I began my career in the 1980s as an adolescent substance abuse counselor, and for 15 years I owned and managed programs in Texas, Arizona, and Colorado. One of my primary responsibilities was facilitating family education programs.
After earning my MBA in 2007, I transitioned to higher education and accepted a position as Director of Colorado State University’s Executive MBA Program. At CSU, I worked in a world class executive program with business leaders and faculty members from many different industries. I also led international study tours to China, Russia, Germany, and Peru and developed a leadership program that focused on emotional intelligence.
In 2012, I returned to working with youth and families and started a Therapeutic Learning Center for at-risk high school students. I discovered CEB during my time at the TLC and found it to be the most effective program for emotions I had ever encountered. I implemented many aspects of CEB into the school's curriculum and in 2019 became a certified CEB teacher.
As someone who experienced many challenging emotional circumstances, I am dedicated to helping people with difficult emotions. Since 2020, teaching CEB to families and professionals has been the primary focus of my work. I have also served as adjunct faculty in CSU's Online MBA Program since 2011, and I volunteer at New Life Foundation, a mindful recovery community in Thailand. I live in Utah with my wife of 34 years, and our son lives in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
